MyMedicare is a new federal government initiative for strengthening the relationship between patients, their general practice, doctors, and primary healthcare teams. Recent Medicare changes mean patients are encouraged to register for MyMedicare.
Patients register for MyMedicare and select their general practice and nominate a regular doctor as part of the process.
Your MyMedicare registration will let the practice and your doctor know that you see us as your regular clinical team for your healthcare needs.
MyMedicare aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner and primary care teams.Â
Once you have registered, you won’t need to provide Medicare consent at every appointment with your regular GP. If you do not register for MyMedicare, you may be asked to provide consent each time you attend the clinic.
Patients have been able to register for MyMedicare from 1st October 2023. You can register by simply logging into your Medicare online services – Medicare Online Account or via the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.
Patients who register with a DVA Card will not be able to register online. A hard copy registration form is available from our reception team for you to complete.
For patients who are unable to complete the registration process online, please see our friendly reception team and they will be able to assist you with the registration process by completing a hard copy form.
Although registration for MyMedicare is voluntary, we encourage you to register with your regular practice and GP to formalise your patient-doctor relationship. This will allow your GP to strengthen the relationship with you and allow you more access to health services including extended telehealth visits and chronic disease management, allowing your GP to provide you with holistic and care with continuity.
